The Wellgreen combine classic sixties songwriting, early powerpop and psychedelia on top of vintage recording techniques to create a familiar yet fresh & original sound. Having toured extensively supporting Euros Childs and Stevie Jackson (as well as providing drums, bass, guitar and harmonies for both on their respective sets and records), The Wellgreen have released two full albums through The Barne Society and a compilation record through Pretty Olivia Records which was subsequently repressed by Sugarbush Records. Stilton are a four piece collective combining the songwriting of Lavinia Blackwell (Trembling Bells) and Marco Rea (The Wellgreen). along with their respective solo material. Stilton are currently recording their debut recordings; a collection of upbeat melodies and fireside folk songs marrying the harmonious vocals of Blackwell and Rea, underpinned by bass player Jim McGoldrick and Seb Jonsen on drums. Big Hogg are a 6 piece Canterbury influenced progressive group mixing threads of acid folk, Dr John, Kevin Ayers and 60s/70s west coast psych. They released their eponymous debut album on Neon Tetra in 2015 and built up a glowing live reputation following shows at the Barrowlands, Rockaway Beach, Wickerman and Eden festivals. In 2017 they signed with London label BEM who released their critically acclaimed “Gargoyles” album in May of that year.
Record Collector magazine described it as “An epic fantasia through Glasgow’s grimy underbelly with tumbling brass and suspended jazz chords” whilst Prog Magazine said “…masters of weaving an aural tapestry of influences together to create some suitably brilliant and uplifting music in the true spirit of the Canterbury pioneers.”
