This play is a co-production with Aberdeen Performing Arts and will be performed at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen from 29th April – 3rd May.

A Scottish emigrant took the ‘baw’ to Brazil.

A Brazilian immigrant took Samba to Scotland.

 Based loosely on true stories this multi-cultural musical tells a heartwarming love story set doon by the Broomielaw in the hey-day of the Clyde.

Joyce Falconer was raised in Torry, Aberdeen but has been based mainly in Glasgow for the past

25 years. She has performed in many genres of theatre and a vast variety of venues from Barlinnie to the Concert Hall. She has several TV credits, been the feature of three documentaries and played ‘Roisin’ for the first 5 years of ‘River City’. Joyce has written many poems ,songs,plays for community groups and writes material for her one-woman shows and Burns Nights. She has appeared in 3 PPP’s and is delighted to have her first commission from Òran Mór  and the Lemon Tree, both of whom she is no stranger to.
