The Congress 15
GFT
Friday 15–Thursday 21 August
Voted the European Animated Feature of the Year at the European Film Awards, The Congress is a mind-bending, multi-coloured trip. When fortysomething Hollywood star Robin Wright (played by Wright) accepts a lucrative offer to be scanned for posterity, she agrees to never act in person again. Ari Folman’s ambitious follow-up to Waltz with Bashir transforms a science-fiction classic into a scathing assault on the fickleness of fame. GFF14
The screening on Monday 18 August (17.40) will be introduced by Dr Nessa Johnstone, lecturer at Glasgow School of Art, as part of our Contemporary Cinema Course.
Win tickets plus the film’s soundtrack and DVDs Persepolis & Spirited Away in our great prize giveaway!
