The Blue Room , GFT Friday 23 – Sunday 25 September 2016

Noir thriller at its most taut and engaging.
Friday 23 – Sunday 25 September
Running time: 1h16m
Mattieu Amalric directs this erotic French thriller that shares a heavy debt to New Wave crime director Claude Chabrol. Amalric also stars as Julien Gahyde, who is introduced being questioned by the police for unknown reasons, before the lm jumps in chronology, building intrigue as we are slowly presented with Julien’s wife and his high-school crush Esther. Wonderfully surreal but subtle, this is noir thriller at its most taut and engaging, and is all the better for refusing to decrypt its central mystery.
