Before Summer Ends, GFT, 10 November, 2017

After five years in Paris, Arash has decided to return home to Iran, but his fellow Iranian natives convince him to take one last trip through the south of France. As the friends drive, drink lots of beer, and meet a pair of female French musicians, they enjoy a road trip permeated with a wistful longing for home. This artfully photographed documentary beautifully captures the ex-pat experience with humour, and was the opening film of Cannes’ indie strand ACID earlier this year.
