Series of Events in Glasgow Marking 3rd Anniversary of Invasion of Ukraine

Glasgow will host a series of events marking the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion and war against Ukraine. The day will serve as a solemn reminder of the devastation, loss, and sacrifice endured by Ukraine, but also as a testament to its unwavering strength, resilience, and determination to defend its freedom.
The events, which will bring together Ukrainians and the wider community in Glasgow to honour those who have fought and continue to fight for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Event 1: The Price of Freedom – Three Years of Ukrainian Resilience
Location: St Enoch’s Square, Glasgow (G1 4BW)
Date: Monday, 24 February 2025
Time: 17:30 – Demonstration, 18:00 – Procession to Glasgow Cathedral
A public demonstration will take place at St Enoch’s Square, where the Ukrainian community and supporters will gather in solidarity against aggression and in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty. This will be followed by a procession to Glasgow Cathedral, symbolising unity, remembrance, and the continued struggle for freedom.
This event is more than a commemoration—it is a call to action. A reminder that Ukraine’s fight is not just for its own survival, but for the universal values of freedom, dignity, and justice.

Event 2: Invicta Ukraine – Commemorating Three Years of Resilience
Location: Glasgow Cathedral
Date: Monday, 24 February 2025
Time: 19:00
Following the demonstration, a commemorative event, “Invicta Ukraine,” will take place at Glasgow Cathedral. This evening will be a moment to reflect, honour, and unite—bringing together Ukrainians who have sought refuge in Scotland, and those who have welcomed and supported them.
Through speeches, music, and remembrance, this event will highlight the resilience of Ukraine and its people, reaffirming that despite the immense challenges faced, Ukraine remains unbroken.
Organised by: The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB), Glasgow Branch, with the support of the Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh, and in partnership with Mission of Innocents, St Mary’s Ukrainian School Glasgow, Ukrainian Parish of Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ Glasgow, Ukrainian Society of Strathclyde, Glasgow University Ukrainian Society and SOLO Way Ukrainian Choir.
