The Seasons in Quincy, Four Portraits of John Berger, GFT, 23 – 29 June, 2017

A fascinating collective effort, The Seasons in Quincy is a frank exploration studying four different insights into the late John Berger’s life, thoughts and writing. Tilda Swinton, Colin MacCabe, Christopher Roth and Bartek Dziadosz each compose a personal and intimate portrait of the reclusive artist, painter and critic. Tied together with a meditative score from Simon Fisher Turner, The Seasons In Quincy is a loving snapshot of the avant-garde icon who passed away at the beginning of 2017. GFF17
We get closer to him as a personality than a more conventional film could ever take us.
