Pity Party Film Club presents a rare screening of John Water’s cult 1990 musical Cry-Baby.
An affectionate homage to 1950s greaser culture, Cry-Baby details the exploits of a gang of young offenders led by Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker (Johnny Depp), the baddest boy in school. Wade’s amazing talent, the ability to shed one single tear, drives all the girls wild – especially Allison Vernon Williams (Amy Locane), a rich, beautiful “square” who finds herself uncontrollably drawn to the delinquent dreamboat and his forbidden world of rockabilly music, fast cars and faster women.
