Based on the manga by Yuko Tone and Kei Okamoto, and directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Isao Takahata, this coming-of-age tale follows 27-year-old office worker Taeko, who takes a trip down memory lane when she leaves Tokyo to visit relatives in the countryside. The past begins to infiltrate the present as Taeko is reminded of her childhood in 1960s Tokyo, and she embarks on a journey of reflection and discovery.
