Loving Vincent, GFT, 13– 19 October, 2017

The world’s first fully painted feature film uniquely explores one of art’s great mysteries: the life and controversial death of Vincent van Gogh. Beginning a year after his demise, we witness a series of interviews conducted by Armand Roulin – a regular model for the artist – who becomes obsessed with van Gogh’s death, caused by a bullet wound to the stomach. Van Gogh’s paintings come to life in this thrilling animated feature.
The Tue 17 Oct (20.10) screening will be followed by a recording of the satellite Q&A.
