The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Until Thursday 16 November
Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster) has crafted a sensational thriller brimming with unsettling humour, creeping dread, Hitchcockian psychodrama, and riveting suspense. Dr. Steven Murphy (Colin Farrell) is a renowned surgeon presiding over a spotless household. Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin (Barry Keoghan), as Martin begins insinuating himself into the family’s life in ever-more unsettling displays, the full scope of his intent becomes menacingly clear. The screening on Mon 13 Nov (18.00) will be introduced by Alistair Harkness as part of the Contemporary Cinema Course.
★★★★ ‘Lanthimos is brilliant at summoning up a whole created world and immersing us in it.’ – The Guardian
