International Women’s Day at Glasgow Film Festival al 2023
Today is International Women’s Day and GFF23 is celebrating with the UK Premiere of Carol Morley’s Typist Artist Pirate King, followed by a Q&A with stars Kelly Macdonald, Monica Dolan and director Carol Morley.
Through the festival programme, GFF are championing female led productions, from Viva el cine español! with Ramona or The Water, to the horror film Our Father, The Devil, a raw and intense revenge-driven story dissecting the lasting scars of past traumas. Their retrospective strand this year In The Driving Seat sets an eye on showcasing iconic classics revolving around women taking charge and setting off to forge their own path. Screenings in this programme are entirely free! Check out Band, a mockumentary following a last ditch attempt a success by The Post Performance Blues Band to find success, and they themselves will be performing at Nice N Sleazy afterwards.
