Nils Dickman (Stellan Skarsgård) is a respected and admired member of his small Norwegian hometown, given the title ‘Citizen of the Year’ for his work clearing paths in the snow using his plough. However, once Nils’ son is killed in gang-related activity, the seemingly amiable blue-collar worker goes on a brutal path of revenge. Bone-dry humour permeates the pulpy narrative as Nils slowly but steadily ticks gang members off his list in this bloody treat for the black of heart.
