Celebrating diversity with a fabulous programme of events
After the success of last year’s inaugural event, Govanhill International Festival and Carnival returns with a spectacular showcase including: Parade, Music, Dance, Walks Talks, Workshops and Community Activities. Come along and celebrate the amazing cultural, ethnic , religious and community diversity of Govanhill.
Launch Event
16 August, 2018 4:00 – 6:00pm
Daisy Street Halls, 28 Daisy Street
The Lord Provost Eva Bolander will formally launch the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival 2018. Entertainment will be provided by local choirs and singing groups.

Carnival and Parade
18 August, 2018 1p.m.
A colourful celebration of the unique diversity of Govanhill, bringing together community groups, drummers, dancers, jugglers, roller skaters, brass bands and more. Cheer them on as they weave through the streets of Govanhill to join the Carnival at Queen’s Park.
