The Bismarck – North Dakota’s shame is Seattle’s gain. (members of The Just Joans, Astral Planes and The Belle Hops, and formerly Powder Blue) thin white dukes that live in dusty libraries (and sound like The Sweet getting facedragged up and down the Autobahn by Can. Mann. / The Phar’I-Sees, the soundtrack to a moonlight drive-in Bela Lugosi double bill hosted by Roky Erikson, the snarl of Benjamin and the thunder of M.R. Cavanagh and BF Bessie grating Elvis and the Cramps through countless years of smoking valves. A man that asked himself too many questions once wrote the following: “Is that a Fender twin Reverb I hear? Is it getting a royal pounding? Yes it is, as The Pharisees are on stage blasting out no nonsense missiles built back in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll. Like the man said, it’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it, like it.
