First Full Gig
Gavin Paterson and The Clancy Sessions Band, Blackfriars Saturday 4 September, 2016
‘This will be our first full gig. We’ve been rehearsing full-on for the past wee while and we are now ready!
The CD will be available to buy on the night and there will be a fair wee selection from that in the set.
But, with over 500 songs to chose from, it won’t be all Clancy/Makem. For pub gigs we will be picking numbers that we like and that suit our sound. You can expect a touch of Steve Earle, The Mavericks, The Decemberists, Waterboys, Neil Young and many ohers. And yes, we will be happy to play requests.
The band is sounding great – Rob on sweet and clean lead guitar, Joe on the tasty squeeze box, a solid and sympathetic rhythm section with Brian the bass and Iain the drums. And lots of harmonies and lots of audience participation too.
It would be grand to see you at our first gig. A wee bit of support to help the first-gig jitters! ‘
9pm at Blackfriars, Bell Street, Glasgow G1 1 LG
