Mark Hartley follows his salutes to Ozploitation and Filipino B-movies by celebrating the eclectic legacy of Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. This dynamic duo purchased the Cannon Group in 1979 and stormed the Hollywood barricades by funding action fodder from Bronson, Van Damme and Norris as well as backing John Cassavetes, Franco Zeffirelli and Barbet Schroeder. Electric Boogaloo is a wickedly entertaining guilty pleasure that covers all the triumphs and disasters, cheesy B-movies and tacky press stunts.
