Trying to Make the Poem ‘Work’ with Edinburgh Makar, Christine De Luca
Tuesday 5th July 2016
7 pm Club Room, CCA
“Being a Makar means I am asked to write poems to order. The creative process (such as it is) has to start from scratch but perhaps isn’t so very different from one’s own writing.”
In this talk Edinburgh Makar Christine De Luca will discuss the process of crafting a poem, touching on issues of language as some of her poems decide to speak in English and others in Shetlandic. De Luca will also relate the broad theme of Innovation, Architecture, and Design as she enjoys bringing these concepts into her writing.
Tickets: £6/(£3) Concessions, Free for SWC Members
