Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys bring their acclaimed second album, The Wishing Tree, to Celtic Connections 2023. Expect to hear uplifting melodies, soaring harmonies, high-octane instrumentals and stunning vocals – all laced with cheeky humour. Formed in 2016 by BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Kelly, The Lost Boys are among the most exciting bands on the contemporary UK folk scene. Boasting a virtuosic line-up including Jamie Francis (banjo), Archie Moss (melodeon) and Evan Carson (drums), they perform innovative reworkings of traditional songs from England, Scotland, Ireland and America, alongside stunning original tunes.
