Ceilidh A New Musical – Cottiers

19 – 22 August, 2024
A Dance, A Dram & A Story
This new developmental immersive musical invites audiences to experience one of Scotland’s oldest and most beloved customs. Led by a caller and a traditional Scottish band, CEILIDH leads audiences through steps, songs and stories — while sharing a dram or two along the way! As the dancing begins, the story of a family linked by love and tradition plays out all around, as the real reason for tonight’s ceilidh is revealed.
CEILIDH combines dynamic storytelling with communal dances all led by a rich, raucous score from award-winning Scottish writers Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie, and directed and choreographed by Tony-award nominee Sam Pinkleton. This developmental workshop of CEILIDH is a uniquely authentic theatrical event that celebrates the importance of family, heritage, community, and fun!
