Bothying in Scotland Ian R. Mitchell

Bothying in Scotland
One of the projects Ian Mitchell has been working on in 2015 is a feature film about the history of bothying in the Scottish mountains, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Mountain Bothies Association, the charity which renovates and maintains the many bothies in the Highlands. Ian was involved in both consultancy and in some of the location filming for the feature, which is being shown on BBC2, and where some of his own favourite bothies are visited.
If you have never experienced a Scottish bothy, this film may make up your mind whether a night by a roaring woodfire supping whisky by guttering candlelight, with the wind howling a gale outside is for you – or not!
Wednesday 9 December, 2015 – 9 p.m. BBC2
