  • The first book-length study of the history of working-class courtship, marriage, and divorce in Scotland
  • Focuses on the working class across rural and urban locations, different occupational profiles, and different ethnicities
  • Deploys a mixed-method approach that explores the relationship between discursive shifts and lived experience whilst incorporating the insights of the history of emotions
