Black 47 GFT
28 September – 4 October, 2018
The Irish potato famine provides an atmospheric backdrop to this driving revenge thriller. In 1847 Ireland’s population has been decimated by the combined impact of the famine and the brutal English occupation. Feeney, a hardened Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, abandons his post to return home and re-unite with his estranged family. But the horrors that greet him push him over the edge, and he decides to deliver justice the only way he knows how: by force. When word of Feeney’s rebellion reaches the British army’s commanders, disgraced soldier Hannah is offered the chance to redeem himself by hunting Feeney down. The stage is set for a brutal Western-infused showdown between two desperate men with nothing to lose.
