Glasgow got a little taste of Christmas this week when Santa Claus made an early appearance in the city! Even better, he was spotted hanging out with Bella, Beatson Cancer Charity’s lovable mascot, to promote this year’s much-anticipated Glasgow Santa Dash 2024, sponsored by GAP Group Hire Solutions, CCL Design and St. Enoch. The festive pair brought smiles and excitement to passers-by as they encouraged everyone to join the fun run on Sunday, 8th December at Glasgow Green.
Santa and Bella’s surprise outing has got the city buzzing with excitement for the Santa Dash, a 5K festive fun run where everyone gets to dress up and enjoy the holiday spirit—all while supporting cancer patients and their families across Glasgow and the west of Scotland. The event will be hosted by well-known TV and radio personality Bryan Burnett, adding even more festive cheer to the day!
Maisie McCormick, Community Fundraising Manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “It’s wonderful to see Santa and Bella out and about, spreading some early Christmas magic. The Santa Dash is always such a fun, uplifting event, and it’s great to see people already getting excited. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up and coming together to support those affected by cancer.”
She added, “The Santa Dash isn’t just about running—it’s about creating joy, bringing the community together, and helping raise vital funds for cancer patients and their families. We hope everyone joins in and makes this year’s event one to remember!”
The Santa Dash is open to everyone—whether you want to run, jog, or walk the route, it’s all about having fun and raising funds for a great cause. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome, and there’s even a prize for the best-dressed Santa, so get creative with your costumes!
