A Gentle Creature, GFT

20 – 26 April, 2018
Inspired by Dostoevsky’s short story, In the Fog director Sergei Loznitsa takes us into a lawless Russia where crime is often unpunished. A woman lives alone on the outskirts of a Russian village, when one day, she receives a parcel that she sent to her incarcerated husband marked ‘return to sender’. She decides to travel to Siberia in search of answers. Met by violence, corruption and humiliation, this ‘gentle creature’ pursues a quest for justice. A powerful and hugely ambitious state-of-the-nation fable. GFF18
