GFF24, 28 February – 10 March, 2024
The 20th festival will launch a year of celebration for Glasgow Film Theatre
Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) has announced plans to host a series of special events for the 20th edition of the much-loved festival, which returns from 28 February to 10 March 2024.
GFF is one of the leading film festivals in the UK and is run by Glasgow Film, a charity which also runs Glasgow Film Theatre. Glasgow Film Festival is made possible by support from Screen Scotland, the BFI Audience Projects Fund, awarding National Lottery funding and Glasgow Life.
2024 is set to be a year of celebration for Glasgow Film. As well as GFF’s 20th edition, plans are underway to mark the 85th anniversary of the Cosmo cinema, which opened in 1939 and in 1974 became Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT), making next year its 50th birthday. As well as being Scotland’s most popular independent cinema, GFT is also the central hub of Glasgow Film Festival. In celebration of these milestones, the festival will present three of their immersive special events featuring films drawn from each of those years.

Glasgow Film also today announced a special Preview of Girl, GFF 2023’s Opening Gala title, taking place on Friday 17 November ahead of its general release. A Q&A with Director Adura Onashile will accompany the screening at Glasgow Film Theatre. Tickets will go on sale 11 October, Buy tickets online and at the GFT Box Office. Phone: 0141 332 6535
