Captioned screening
Our Wes Anderson season launches this weekend with his breakthrough sophomore feature Rushmore. Starring Jason Schwartzman as Max Fischer, an eccentric 15-year-old student at Rushmore Academy whose life changes when he finds himself on academic probation, in love with elementary teacher Miss Cross and at odds with wealthy industrialist Herman Blume. On its release in 1998, the winning performances, witty script and fantastic soundtrack marked Anderson as one of the most distinct voices of his generation.
This screening will include an introduction to our CineMaster: Wes Anderson season by programmer Heather Bradshaw.
