Nocturnal GFT
18 – 24 September, 2020
Set in a nondescript Yorkshire coastal town, Nocturnal tells the story of Laurie, a cynical schoolgirl, who builds a secret friendship with Pete, an older man who’s apparently obsessed with her. Rife with simmering emotional tension, Nathalie Biancheri’s elegantly controlled character study boasts remarkable natural central performances from Cosmo Jarvis and Lauren Coe, as Pete and Laurie, whose intense connection may conceal something more ominous.
‘Cosmo Jarvis shines in this portrait of flawed, inarticulate masculinity… Jarvis proves himself able to carry a film on his considerable shoulders: a leading man who harks back to the beautiful, sensitive, Brando-esque brutes of the 1950s.’ – Little White Lies
