Lee’s fourth and most recent collaboration with Denzel Washington also remains his biggest box office hit to date. Lee’s energetic directing style works perfectly for this story of a Manhattan bank heist where nothing is what it seems. Underneath the slick and entertaining surface this is a story of corrupted power, an ideal mix for Lee’s sensibilities. It’s also effortlessly played by a cast bursting with A-list talent, including Chiwetel Ejiofor and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles.
