The 2016 Oscar nominee, He Named Me Malala, is a powerful documentary about a young girl’s fight for access to education in Pakistan. Malala Yousafzai became the youngest-ever recipient of a Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts, and she spawned a worldwide movement to secure girls’ right to a minimum of 12 years of quality schooling. A conversation following the documentary will include discussion of the health benefits of educational provision and participant-led advocacy.
