Unite Against Poverty & Inequality
Thursday 19 March, 2015, 7.30 p.m.
Dalmuir CE Centre, Duntocher Road, Clydebank, G81
– resist benefit cuts
– outlaw poverty pay & Zero Hours Contracts
– demand £10 NOW as a living minimum wage
Poverty and inequality scar the face of Scotland. A million are below the breadline – including 220,000 kids – in the 14th richest nation on earth!
Tory assaults on benefits condemn many local people to hunger and destitution. But over half those in poverty are working – with slave wages, Zero Hours Contracts, insecure and part-time jobs.
Attend this public meeting. Hear people directly hit by poverty and inequality, who are fighting back. Hear the SSP’s case for a £10 minimum wage NOW, for all over 16, with equal pay for women.
Join the battle to put people before profit, and to bring an end to poverty.otprint” for my tent in anticipation of having to pitch on rough or dirty sites. Although I don’t anticipate having to buy any clothing for the trip, I am constantly going over in my head how I can keep the amount I carry to a minimum as this will obviously affect my progress. I’ve created a few files for GPX tracks which I can load onto my GPS device (Garmin Etrex Vista HCx) to guide me on my way and I can already feel the excitement mounting whenever I think about this journey.
