Acclaimed director David Fincher’s adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s global best seller features an all-star cast in a tangled tale of love, lies and deceit in recession-era New York. When Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) missing on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary, he finds himself under intense scrutiny from an increasing media circus that begins to poke holes in their supposedly blissful union. Fincher once again teams up with his The Social Network music partners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, in a film that investigates our celebrity obsessed culture and the impact of the recession on relationships whilst also questioning how much we can really know about one another.
4 stars “Stylish, twisted and daring, Gone Girl is a David Fincher date movie: dark, smart and dangerous” – EMPIRE
4 stars “A bracing, scalding sketch of a marriage in meltdown” – Xan Brooks, The Guardian
