Illuminated Letters: International Women’s Day Exhibition
March 8 – March 23
Free
GOMA, Royal Exchange Square
Illuminated-Letters-2The letters and postcards we have received as part of our Illuminated Letters project will be on display for a week from International Women’s Day on Saturday 8th March. Most will be part of a special exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, with a small, satellite exhibit at the Library.
These beautiful, touching, colourful letters celebrate just some of the women throughout history who have changed lives: suffragettes, sportswomen, singers and scientists; philanthropists, parachutists, playwrights and pioneers; artists, anarchists, aviators and activists; environmentalists, entertainers, engineers and educators; witches, writers, workers and warriors. Find out how their stories have inspired other women.
