Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict (15)
GFT
13 – 15 December, 2015
Peggy Guggenheim’s life and loves are examined in this fascinating documentary from director Lisa Immordino Vreeland.
One of the most prominent art collectors of the 20th century, Guggenheim helped kick-start the careers of artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Louise Nevelson, Robert Motherwell and, most famously, Jackson Pollock. Combining audio interviews with Guggenheim herself, alongside contemporary interviews with luminaries of the art world, the film also features many of Guggenheim’s collected artworks. A brilliant tribute to an icon.
