The latest film from The Women on the 6th Floor director Philippe Le Guay, this charming chamber piece charts two French actors who are attempting to take on Molière’s The Misanthrope and not murder each other in the process. TV heartthrob Gauthier Valence (Lambert Wilson) attempts to convince his long-time reclusive actor friend (Fabrice Luchini) to star in his production of Molière’s comedy of manners. Dealing with egos, friendship, rivalry and love, this film is a remarkably enchanting comedy that will delight with its sophistication.
Specially commissioned programme notes are available for this film.
