You are invited to the Scottish Writing Groups Competition Showcase at 12pm in the Mitchell Library on Saturday 5th March 2011, where winners of short story and poetry entries will be awarded prizes of Amazon Vouchers sponsored by the 'Let's Get Lyrical' project. Judges David Kinloch (poetry) and Maggie Graham (short stories) will be present to give out the prizes.

Part of Aye Write 2011 - 4th till 12th March.

Linda Jackson on Songwriting

Linda Jackson has combined a life of writing and performing music with her literary interests; she has 4 CDs produced and many short stories and poems published in a range of anthologies, including New Writing Scotland. She was one of the founders and editors of Nerve magazine and currently organises Reading the Waves at Street level Art Gallery .(Next one 3rd March with Alisdair Gray) Eight years ago, she was responsible for writing and developing the professional writing course at the now City of Glasgow College. Working as the coordinator of Women's Studies at Strathclyde University for 3 years, she wrote and taught various courses on film studies and now teaches novel writing and script-writing for Radio at the university.
