A stimulating evening of poetry, literature and song, including readings and performances from the cream of Scotland's finest poets, writers and musicians including Alasdair Gray, Liz Lochhead, Tom Leonard, James Kelman, John Byrne, Janice Galloway, Zoe Strachan, Eugene Kelly, Eddie Reader, Aiden Moffat, Justin Currie, members of Belle & Sebastian (if they're not in the studio recording) and the Bluebird Theatre Group. Sandy Nelson will be compering on the night.

Never before have all the artistes performing been brought together to perform in ?ran M?r -the new home of Scottish Arts and Culture.

Being auctioned on shownight by Anita Manning will be original art by Alasdair Gray, Peter Howson, John Byrne, Jim Lambie and several other Scottish artists and also musical instruments, for example a banjo signed by Billy Connolly, an acoustic guitar signed by Willie Nelson and another by Franz Ferdinand. This' only a flavour of what to expect as we guarantee a fantastic evening of entertainment and opportunity!

A champagne reception kicks the night off 7pm, with the programme starting at 7.30pm sharp. The evening is split into 3 sections - Poetry, The Auction and then Music.

The event is being organised by Yvonne Kincaid and Linda Wylie of Kinky Fox Productions as a memorial to Gail Wylie and to try to raise as much as possible towards the new cancer research unit that will benefit everyone living in Scotland. Gail, Yvonne's good friend and Linda's sister, was was diagnosed with Leukaemia only last year and died only 4 months later in Oct 2004. Gail was only 31 when she passed away, lived in the west end most of her adult life, attended Glasgow University and studied literature, was a poet, actress and academic who is sadly missed by friends and family. The event is named after the title of one of Gail's poems'The Space You're Not In'

Everyone involved behind the scenes, as well as performing on the night, is donating their energy, time, creativity and graft for free.
