We are twenty years into the future. The last few residents have been forcibly evicted and the country’s newest and only prison, The People of Scotland’s Prison Isle of Arran, is operational. So, what now for Scotland’s redundant prisons, especially Barlinnie? For starters, London-based Gin and Tonic Productions have been commissioned by Channel Four to make the ultimate documentary about Scotland’s iconic ‘big hoose’ but is Oxbridge graduate Joshua Wellington-Boot the right man to produce such a programme and are former inmate and warden, Fudd MacPie and Tam Johnstone, the right men to be talking to?
