GFT
Friday 16 January – Thursday 5 February
A film made up of pure adrenaline, which will leave you catching your breath right up until the last crash of bloodied drumstick meeting sweat-stained cymbal. Anchored around career-defining performances from Miles Teller as young jazz-drummer prodigy Andrew Neyman, and J K Simmons as his relentless boot-camp sergeant of a teacher Terence Fletcher, this is a film about drive, ambition and what it takes to become something great. This brilliantly paced piece of cinema plays like a beautifully staged jazz-drum solo, building up momentum as it reaches one of the most satisfying finales in film history.
