The War Show, GFT, 16 September, 2017

A Damascus radio host and her friends capture the euphoria of Syria’s revolution – and their country’s descent into war. Armed with cameras and a newly defiant idealism, Obaidah Zytoon’s friends all hoped for a better future for Syria when they took to the streets in early 2011. Her footage, shot over several years, provides an intimate and complex record of how this initial elation was crushed by violent repression and the rise of extremism. In association with National Union of Journalists.
