Variety plus Better Gordon Q & A
Thursday 24 August, 2023 – 8.10 pm
Standard screenings: Monday 21 – Wednesday 23 August
Director Bette Gordon will be joining GFT for a remote Q&A following a screening of her 1983 cult favourite Variety.
Based on a Brechtian script by Kathy Acker and starring New York underground legends like Nan Goldin and Cookie Mueller, Bette Gordon’s scuzzy New York indie powerfully inverts the gendered conventions of the erotic thriller.
Part of GFTs Down & Dirty: American D.I.Y. Restored season, also featuring Kamikaze Hearts on Saturday 26 & Tuesday 29 August, and Salvation! on Sunday 27 & Wednesday 30 August.
Glasgow Film Theatre, 12 Rose Street, G3 6RB
