Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood is one of the most celebrated radio plays of all times, premiering on BBC radio in 1954, shortly after the great poet’s premature death, with his friend Richard Burton in the lead role. This 1972 film adaptation has Richard Burton reprising his role as ‘First Voice’, and he is joined by Peter O’Toole and Elizabeth Taylor. Set in the imaginary Welsh fishing village of Llareggub, the story merges the dreams, reflections and day-to-day conversations of the inhabitants.
