The Virgin Suicides – 4K at GFT
Friday 28 July – Saturday 5 August 2023
Sofia Coppola‘s 1993 cult classic delicately explores themes of identity, angst and awkwardness in young women with melancholy and balanced humour. One dreamy ‘70s summer, 13-year-old Cecilia commits suicide, and her four older sisters are placed in isolation by their parents, quarantined from social interaction – particularly with the opposite sex. A curious and compelling story with a fantastic soundtrack by French duo Air.
