That Sugar Film is one man’s journey to discover the bitter truth about sugar.
Damon Gameau embarks on a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, consuming only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’. Through this entertaining and informative journey, Damon highlights some of the issues that plague the sugar industry, and where sugar lurks on supermarket shelves. That Sugar Film will forever change the way you think about ‘healthy’ food.
The film will be introduced by staff from Woodlands Community Development Trust, who this month are launching their new volunteer training programme for both Woodlands Community Garden and Woodlands Pop-up Community Cafe. Woodlands Community Garden is a vibrant outdoor community centre – a wonderfully therapeutic space that helps people to recover from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Linked to the garden, the community café has pioneered an alternative approach to food banks that centres around a shared meal and has served up over 3,600 healthy meals in the last year.
