Storm Damage at Glasgow Film Theatre
Saturday 15 April, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Written by actor and screenwriter Lennie James, and rarely screened since its release in 2000, Storm Damage is an emotionally powerful, imaginative and complex portrayal of the experiences of young people living within a care home in Brixton’s Angel Town.
In this culturally significant story, Danny (Adrian Lester) is an idealistic Black teacher-turned-care worker whose major challenge lies in turning the home’s primary delinquent Stefan (Ashley Walters) away from the negative and potentially fatal influence of local gangster Boniface (Lennie James).
A memorable drama that has achieved cult status, don’t miss the opportunity to see this on the big screen.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A chaired by Dr Clive Chijioke Nwonka, Associate Professor of Film, Culture and Society at UCL. Please check back for confirmation of guests.
