Hosted by Lesley Traynor and Janet Crawford, Poetry In Motion offers up an evening of six short (approx. 4mins long) Poetry Films from Poets and Writers. Each film will be put into context and its production discussed. Discussion points will include:
• What is a Poetry film?
• Collaborative v solo project
• Tools to produce a film
• Sharing your film
• The use of short film for poetry, writing, book promotion and other events, as well as publicity
• Educational use of Poetry films
We’re currently seeking submissions from poets and writers to share their film poems. Submissions will be accepted at info@scottishwriterscentre.org.uk with ‘Poetry In Motion’ as a subject line. Films should be approx. 4 mins in length and saved as MP4 or .MOV in HD with good sound quality. Each film should be put into context; where and how it was shot, choice of poem, use. An SWC member of staff will contact you to set up your time slot.
