Rachel Getting Married, GFT, 27 and 29 August, 2017
Kym Buchman has been in and out of rehab clinics for the better part of ten years, and is given special leave from her most recent stint in order to attend her sister’s wedding. Staying at the family home, Kym is surrounded by her entire extended family, all of whom have their own thoughts on her situation. Jonathan Demme’s gift for representing character and community shines through in this moving film, which is also notable for its breakthrough Oscar-nominated performance by Anne Hathaway.
