My Friend Dahmer, GFT
2 – 7 June, 2018
Jeffrey Dahmer was one of America’s most notorious serial killers. As a 17-year-old, misfit Dahmer (Ross Lynch) is awkward and nerdy, his erratic behavior unexpectedly attracting friends at school. At home, his parents navigate a hostile divorce, while Dahmer’s fascination with the macabre begins to grow. Adapted from a best-selling 2012 graphic memoir by Dahmer’s schoolmate John “Derf” Backderf, writer-director Marc Meyers’ innovative My Friend Dahmer is a disturbing portrait of a loner teenager in his senior year at high-school, and a small-town community unable to predict the atrocities to come.
