Molly’s Game, GFT
2 – 11 January, 2017
Oscar-winning writer Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The Social Network) steps into the director’s chair to tell the incredible true story of Molly Bloom (Jessica Chastain), an Olympic-class skier whose title hopes were dashed in a freak accident. Down but not out, Bloom changed career and ended up running the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Beginning with her arrest by the FBI in 2013, this highly entertaining film gives Chastain her meatiest role in years, with great support from Idris Elba as her lawyer, and Michael Cera as a sleazy and powerful movie star.
