Kathak Dance Classes, Glasgow South Side
Beginners’ class in Kathak dance
Saturdays 11 am – 12 noon. Glasgow Southside.
Kathak is one of the main genres of ancient Indian classical dance. Kathak means story, and Kathakars communicate stories through rhythmic foot movements, hand gestures, facial expressions and eye work. This performing art incorporates legends from ancient mythology and great Indian epics. Kathak originated from Hindu temples, and further developed during the Mughal era in the India. Today, this classical dance also forms a sound base for popular Bollywood dance style.
The class is open to everyone from secondary school age to 80 years. Dance experience not necessary.
Cost £25 for a session of 4 classes, or £6 for trial class.
